I reflashed the box and put the line back on with the bat file and it's back up and running. It seems that the update caused the problem so I'll stick with the current settings. Thanks again for the advice. New to this so hopefully pick it up soon enough!
 
Good result DIBS25 well done, doing it over and over is not a bad thing as you learn quickly.

I update at least once a week and have never had that issue, but if it works, don't fix it i suppose. It would be interesting to see what happens if you update again though. Up to you though.
 
Woosh,

SD Card initializes to 51/100 and then sticks.
I have a 500gb HDD in the rear working fine, but I want to use the SD card for timeshift, and HDD for recordings.
Is it possible??

I read this somewhere else on here but have not had chance to stick an SD in yet so don't actually know what happens, how long did it sit there initialising? I will see if I can find a SD tomorrow and play.

I can't see why it wont record and store to SD if you ever get it past 51%
 
Hi,
I'm new to this box, had an openbox v8. I got new box delivered yesterday, put it on last night for the first time and it loaded from 0 to 100 and then from 50 to 100 about 5 times before stopping at 0. The screen just has the open atv logo. Cannot get access to the box through the remote control, it appears that it is frozen. A guy at my work who knows more than me thinks the files may be corrupted? I emailed the supplier and he sent me a link to download the zgemma zip file, i unzipped it, put it on a usb stick and plugged it in to the back of the box and turned power on but it never made any difference. Supplier thinks it may be a fault with usb stick and suggested that I try another. If I download this file and try to load at start-up would it overwrite the files currently on the box which may be corrupted? Sorry it's long winded :)
 
In short yes it will. It will also flash automatically for you so you don't need to do anything except insert USB and switch box on.
 
Just wanted to say thanks for this guide Wooshman. Been running a Skybox F5s for the past 2 years. Decided to upgrade to Zgemma H.2S. Followed your guide. 20 mins later all set up. Very impressed and as you say I now have a happy missus with the EPG!

Top work.

Thanks for this, I'm a novice, but you've simplified it, greatly.

Only problem I'm having is I follow the CrossEPG instructions, but my EPG doesn't populate? Am I doing something wrong.

I'll add that I've updated the skin to version V3.005, would that effect it?

Some people have missed the Download Now step. If you did that step you may need to press the Prev / Next buttons on the remote to move through the EPG to find he newly added stuff.

No mate sorry, I think it will only work on H2S
 
Okay thanks for reply Which pre made build would you recommend so I can get my box up and running. Am a newbie at this and don't have a clue all help would be appreciated

It's just completely blank. Yet if I press up or down on main screen it lists all channels but in no particular order. Do you think it could be because I added the newest version of the skin?

No, the latest version of the skin I understand is some minor changes.

When you download the EPG, does it switch to the radio channel and then start to download stuff before switching to full screen TV and then back to the menu? It sounds to me like you have missed a step somewhere. Do that entire step again, worst case, put the USB stick back in the box and re-flash to start again.

Please let me know when you sort it though as I would be interested for the future what the cause was.

Have a look in the download section for your box, there are quite a few to choose from but I have no experience with any of them I am afraid. Sorry

Have done it twice already and yea, it goes to the radio and downloads everything fine. Will try again and take a screen shot if it does it again.

GREAT NEWS

I have been informed that WooshBuild v1 will work on the H2H. It has been tested and works no differently as it will on the H2S except you can also view VM on the H2H box. I cannot offer any support on the VM side of things as I don't have it.

Feel free to test.
