Failed to tune ABM

In autobouquetsmaker choose about. But have you tried update providers?

Yes m8, it updated virgin, Ran abm after, but ABM gave same error, so followed your instructions on another thread, and did a manual scan, and a lot of channels are back, haven't done a full test yet, as Mrs has got the tv...grrr

Anyone know how I can get the latest config file? I had been running an emergency one for last month or so.

Update the provider file using function within ABM. If there is a problem doing that, say what it is so people can help you.

Thanks, tried that but I believe the emergency file I’ve used isn’t able to be updated as it was a one-off file to overcome a loss of channels.

If it helps my abm version is 2.9.

Problem:
I cannot update my ABM provider files. It says there is an issue with the version of ABM.

Solution:
Option 1.
Uninstall ABM,
Download newer ABM ipk file,
Install ABM
Update provider file
Run ABM

Link to newer ABM with installation instructions:

Option 2.
Flash newer image.
Install newer ABM from plugin server

Yikes 2.9 is old and wonder how old is your image then?
Save line and cfg to desktop first before reflashing.

I was living by the mantra, if it ain't broke, don't fix it....now it's broken :)
I've updated ABM to 3.1 and updated the config file, run the scan but same result. Seems only bbc 1, itv and channel 5 (Non HD) are the only ones I can see clearing.

Yes completes fine, will check the line out but I thought nothing works without an active line, including bbc for example.
Looks like you was right, biggest rookie mistake.
At least I have the latest ABM now :) thanks for all your guys help, and apologies for not getting to the basic check before bothering you all.

For the ABM provider files to be updated, someone has to provide the data. If 00001 was updated, and someone in 00002 has a similar issue, updating it will not change things for them. Just because provider file is updated, it does not mean your area has had details changed. You can check on Git on following links

The commit log for the UK Virgin file is here
https://github.com/oe-alliance/Auto...toBouquetsMaker/providers/cable_uk_virgin.xml

The recent changes by Virgin are that they are killing off frequrncies using 6887 symbol rates and those with QAM64 modulation.

If you want to provide the details so that the ABM fiile is updated, the process should be as follows:

Clear all cable services
Up (next to OK) > Green (satellites/extended) > Highlight Cable services > menu > removes services. Restart to make sure.

Set all Cable tuners to Virgin All systems. It does not matter what NetID you use in tuner config.

Perform a non-abm scan. Use manual, not automatic. Make sure you select complete. See the screenshot if unsure.

Once the scan has completed, check what the details are for "Virgin TV Highlights", "Virgin Movies and store". Most skins will show you the details. Picture attached.

Qam 64 = Modulation 3
Qam 256 = Modulation 5

EDIT:
*******
To avoid ambiguity, please post a screenshot showing the frequency with the following channels: We can get the details from your screenshot. Also say what your NetID is.

DO NOT SHOW YOUR SERVER DETAILS

Virgin TV Highlights
Virgin TV for Newbies
Virgin Movies and Store

EDIT:
If you have an ABM version that is less than 3.1 and you are not able to update the config/provider file, you can download a recent version of ABM from here

There is also a shortened provider file that has the remaining areas changed so that you can use ABM before the main file is updated.

Hi how do i Perform a non-abm scan thanks

Make sure you select complete when performing a scan.

There are only two more areas left to be updated, 00014 and 41055. All other areas should be fine with just updating the ABM provider file. If you ABM is older, see post 329.

Which NetID number are you in?

41053
