Anyone yet indirectly affected by the Corona outbreak?

I met a lad today who's brother had a hard choice to make on Friday. He wanted to cancel his holiday to Orlando Florida because all the attractions he wanted to visit are closed. TUI told him because the flight hadn't been cancelled he would lose all of his deposit if he didn't fly - so he went. Now the planes are grounded he and his family can't get back. 😢
 
People were queuing at the Aldi in my local town yesterday and this morning waiting for it to open. This morning Aldi staff went out before opening and took any elderly people from the queue and let them shop before opening the doors to everyone else. Common sense but very thoughtful of someone imo.

Iceland doing same opening early for elderly before everyone else allowed in to shops

Can still see government closing school by end of this month anyway.

Safety is most important imo so if feasible maybe keep them off until things cool off.

Don't know mate as if keep them off when it is time to go back they won't want to go back after and if send them will probably get asked why you sent them lol

What we have been discussing is
When do you self isolate, ?
If say you isolate in the next week
After 2 weeks you come out of isolation, 2 weeks after you fall Ill ? I sneezed last night my colleague gave me that look.

I can safely say Monaco is off the cards. I just heard Euros been cancelled,. & pubs shut in Ireland.
Next pubs in uk call time, where a lot struggle in good times. Caron & mines favourite restaurant closes friday, it's the same restaurant we went to on our 1st date.
 
Nieces were supposed to come down to stay with us for easter holidays but unfortunately that wont happen now.

Always nice spending time with them.

Situation is affecting people and businesses every day and no doubt those who are not working will be majorly affected with their income being non existent for weeks or even months.
 
Only my work can come out smelling like roses on this situation, they've had double orders from supermarkets but we have people off already and expecting more off so they are asking for volunteers to work 60+ hours from next week. No thanks I dont want to put my health more at risk and overwork myself in a tin can with no fresh air.
 
I'm affected by it now.
Govt this afternoon said no travel abroad unless necessary.
My fishing trip on 27th is necessary so still going.
Got home and Brittany Ferries have suspended sailings from 19/3 to 12/4
Can't go

A tricky one that Baz, I'm not sure what I'd do in that situation. I'm inclined to go with whatever the school decide for mine at mainstream school but obviously there are more complex issues to take into consideration at special schools. Good luck with making the decision.

The cleaning lady at work was sent home yesterday as she had a new, persistent cough. Self isolate for a couple of week with full pay, without counting against her sick record as she's been instructed to stay off.

A nice cheerful lady who always has a few friendly words in passing, hope to see her back at work soon.
 
My thoughts on this as living in Dublin as kids can be carriers and would need to keep away from the elderly,feeble and grand parents as trying to keep everyone safe.one bad decision can be regrettable in the following weeks if the family get it.
Everybody has been told keep your distance and keep kids apart from distant families,schools,parks,restaurants,cafes,pubs all closing down for their safety and others.
I wish all the best on this hair pulling event.
