Probably is terminal but could have just been a capacitor going pop, the fact the led is still on prob points to the box rather than psu but always worth a try. Personally I’d just bin it but if you’re determined might be worth having a look inside the box to see if you can see what went bang.
Poss the psu caps have gone bad as said above. (I have attached a pic of the 2 caps that let go in my psu) .My box gave up the ghost a week ago. Red light on and it would count up to 99 and reboot
The psu was rated at 3a but while I was bench testing it only drew a max on 1a. I replaced with a 2a unit as it is fitted to a fixed dish. If it on a motorised system then a bigger psu will be needed to be able to drive the dish motor without stressing the psu too much.
