simple one really, can i ftp to a firestick 4k same as a box,want to copy paste something and cant see any other way.

To sidload you can use app2fire app.

For typing rather than using remote you can use FireTV app

What are you trying to FTP? If it's an app as in a .apk file copy it to a USB stick or upload said file to dropbox and navigate to the link on an app like downloader. For example....

1) Upload said file to dropbox
2) Get the link to said file
3) Download downloader from the appstore
4) Open downloader
5) Enter URL of said file
