No Signal on Satellite 28.2E Astra

Bro that is so long. I understand what you saying buying another box will be silly but getting another engineer will be costly as well.
Ok.
Scenario 1, you get an engineer who fixes the dish/alignment/LNB for £80 and you have a H7s that works.

Scenario 2, you buy a new box for £120, theres no signal so you get an engineer for £80, then you have three boxes that work and you're £200 down.

Why the hell would I want to get another engineer out as the one today already showed me that there's signal coming through and there was nothing else much could of been done. I won't even look into buying a £120 box probably get one from Amazon and return it, simples.

Very unfair of you to buy a receiver to test your dish/cabling and send back. Seller won't be able to sell as new again.

Did you use the same power supply on both receivers?

Please do not use ABM or AB28.2 to determine whether you have signal. Perform a manual scan, select single satellite, complete scan.

Having a signal does not equate to being on correct sat.

Yehh probably won't send it back.

I will try your suggestion on the manual scan, will have to do this late in the evening.

Thank you for your input.

Have a look on facebook marketplace see if anyone is selling a cheap sky hd box nearby 5 to £10 normally

You were meant to try a different PSU. This has been suggested at least 3 times for you. If the PSU does not supply enough current, you won't be able to switch the LNB into some modes. Probably why some channels work and others don't.

Whereabouts in London are you?

Ohhh I didn't realise you have to change a different plug, I'm in east London, Clayhall area.

Try a different power supply. 12v 2.5amps or higher. If that still doesn't work, you can drop off your receiver and I'll test it on my dish before you go buying another receiver.
I will check the power supply tonight, it's the same plug that came along with the box.

OOHHH MY GOSH, you lot will slap me silly. Abu you were right all long, it was the PSU, Ive been using the old one from the H2H and just came home from work opened up the H7 box and fresh plug wrapped, took the old one out and BOOM its working. Forgive me guys for being dumb. You live and learn. Appreciate all for the support, until next time.

Honestly that would of been the last thing I ever guessed, thanks to you guys and this Forum. I can sleep peacefully now.
Surprisingly, the PSU is often the cause of these type of problems on enigma2 boxes, you'd think that if it powers on, everything is working but not so, the box needs very little power to actually boot up, but when you ask it to do something strenuous, it fails, not enough power. In 90% of cases, a new PSU solves it
