pc running far to slow

itunes????????? as far as i know i dont have itunes on my pc?

as for toolbars only ones i have are Navigation - which i need, bookmarks which i dont use and imageshack and bubbles and google and only use one at a time usually the google one

this is of all the toolbars i have and then the next pic is he toolbars i use dont ususally use the imageshack but needed it to do a screenshot




pc was running very slow again last night but seems to be ok this morning.

I know its not my connection coz other pcs on the network are not running slow its just this one so its gotta be summit on the pc
Just need to know how to stop some of the things from running

IVe just checked my progs and itunes is there so i am going to delete it as i have no idea why its on here and i dont have an ipod or any apple toys, and George uses hes pc for itunes i only ever use WMP

I'm no expert linny, you seem to have a couple of files on that logfile i would delete, but i would really prefer you to ask d4rkn1ght.

hey linny, Bonjour is related to itunes aswell so you can give that a kick in the behind too

Should maybe do another log in normal boot mode too incase safe mode has stopped anything starting up

think the lads have free spyware and malware programs in useful applications that you could run too, like malwarebytes and spybot searchanddestroy, you can always uninstall them again like i do anyway after the scan is finished, their free so why not :)

but as eva said, darknight has the xp to all this, nothing looks too danngerous to me on it but as i said i dont have much experiance with these logs

auslogics defrag is a great tool to use aswell, i found it on this site thanks to the lads and use nothing else to do it since :)
 
at the moment its running a FULL windows defender scan. Taking hours as its checking everything on the pc. Dont usually do a full one just a quick one. I have spybot and AGV prof with spy and spam checkers

Glad to know there looks like nothing to bad on it. Ive deleted bonjour from progms menu asi have no idea what it is lol! or how it got there
 
ive not got an ipod lol so have no idea how its got on here so its gone now lol! ive got music on my phone and dont even use that lol!
 
mine slows up linny in the evening i was told it depennds on how many peeps r using the net were you live. the nearer you are to the major box the less trouble you have. im 2.5 miles from mine so i get slow net when its busy. i pay for 20 mb get 9.4 on a good day.
 
linny use windows defender to change the startup programs too, or type msconfig in the run command window and change them from there. this should help a bit too.

judging from the bottom of the picture of your desktop you may have too many items starting up that you may not need and will continuosly run in the background too

if your using windows defender click on the button that says tools and then on software explorer
then at the bottom of the window click on show for all users, click disable on each application that you dont want starting up in future

i was on the 20 myself with ntl and was only getting under ten at best of times so i switched to ten instead and im still getting the same speed, i aint paying for something i aint getting and i dont care what time of day it is :)
 
i pay for 10 and im luck i seem to get between 7 -8 so not to bad!
OK did the WD thingy and stopped a few things, seems to be running better now, but its school end time lol so see how it is in awhile. Plus its seems of a night my pc gets real slow, yet the other ones in the house are all ok.
There are 2 pcs on during the day and my son spends most of the day on youtube and he never has a problem. The other pc is usually on after about 3.30 and they are all on til about 11ish then all switched off. Think my new software for my Nokia was taking up a lot of the time and a webcam that is not even plugged it lol!

I dont run internet explorer but i cant disable that in WD i only use FF
 
soz axxxo but iv been in the garden im down grading to 10, but i get other free services so didnt mind paying.:angel: lol

LOL but i still would not pay for faster internet coz as we have found out we dont get what we pay for and they wonder why we play games :angel:
 
linny, just so you know, not to ingore DK, but i too, am pretty experienced with these logs, so if you want me to go in depth i can. :grin: been reading hijack logs for quite some time now.
 
will appreciate any help form anyone. Not been on pc for a few days have come back on today and its all gone rather slow again
 
linny, click on the start menu
Right Click on computer
Choose properties, go to advanced & select performance settings.
Choose adjust for better performance click apply, then ok.
Some things on the pc might look a little bit different, but it will speed the pc up a bit.

If you want to change it back do the above & select Let windows choose whats best for my computer

Here's one tip on speeding your computer up/internet speed. Go to control panel- Network connections- Right click on local area Connection-click properties- uncheck QoS Packet scheduler. This is for XP, works for Vista too- but might have to find it in a different way.
 
ok just did the Qos thingy and will let you know how that goes.

Had no pc yesterday for some reason after changing and deleting afew things my dvd drives had disappeared. So spend half the dat restoring pc to different dates to try and get them back. Have no idea why they would not work. Went into device manager and i had 2 yellow ! saying there was an error code. but no matter what i did i could not get rid of those !
Eventually managed to restore it to a date where the drivers appeared, and now thankfully they seem to be still there. So maybe i deleted summit i should not have done
 
ok this morning i tried again to remove bonjour After i re started again i lost both my dvd drives, so had to restore to before i deleted bonjour. So not sure exactly what it is but it causes the loss of both my dvd/cd drives so have no choice but to keep it.
not sure about itunes its not showing on programe lists but when i right click on my c drive and go into promrammes its all there, so not going to do delete any more stuff lol! i seem to have spend the last few days restoring the pc to get my drives back.!


Now thinking of getting a terrabyte external hard drive to see if i can store stuff on ther to maybe speed up my pc
