self employed should have income protection policy. if not their loss

its not that simple mate,
I work mostly outside the UK, and even tho I pay UK tax, and am still classed as a UK resident, no insurance company will touch me for income protection.
in reality, no policy would pay out unless you are physically unable to work, self isolation is NOT being physically unable to work.

Most sole traders have a year end of 5th April although for practical purposes most accountants will prepare them to 31st March

You don't actually have to pay your tax bill plus first payment on account until 31st of January some 10 months later.


The the second payment on account is due 31st of July.

So there is no payment in advance in real terms

It dose not matter no one pays tax in advance in real terms.

Sole trader, self employed , partnerships or Ltd companies.
