Sticky / tacky plastic remote clean?

I have a number of items like a remote and phones now having a tacky residue even on a brand new phone never used and assume plastic is degrading and no way to stop it.

Thought i would ask and nothing spilled on them.

Not sure why that's happened mate but alcohol based solution will fix it for you, I have used nail polish remover in the past (not mime btw lmao)
Just a little bit and comes up brand new

I thought the same as you : I have tried cleaning with various stuff, but nothing seemed to work : I just bought a new remote!!

But this is something that happens with some plastics over time (cheaper ingredients used ?)

I've had sunglasses, watch straps, computer mice, remotes, etc. Do this too, I found methylated spirits took it away.
