In the morning I'm going to start again from scratch, I di have line details but they have gone

thanks Wooshman, i was sent these details (name and numbers are ramdon to what i have)

Host: tvbest-today.biz
Port: 65534
User: Faster
P/W: Itsopen


how would i put this into the box itself.

lol yes but those were details i got to put into a openbox 8s now i am going to try and use the details in this zgemma clueless i am your correct

So with that info you can go to step 6 in the instructions and you should be able to simply send them to your box via the line installer.

That's how some servers send them rather than the cam file you could ask him to send it in newcamd.list then all you should need to do is ftp it to usr/keys or use wooshmans bat file but I don't know how to use it but his instructions are there

I have been working on a new sexy one today, check for a connection first, not quite perfect yet, but close.

no joy sorry, i hit the line installer and it says no errors but back on screen even after refresh (tried reboot too) "select cam 1" no ECM info
 
HI just got one of these boxes today & downloaded to usb stick but when i switch the box on it just goes straight ot boot no flash as mentioned on instructions can you tell me where i am going wrong please?

Your screen should look like this (minus the simpsons) or certainly with mgcamd_1.38r1 selected

Remember to press green to start the cam.

Read trough the posts from the beginning as people have some problems with certain USB sticks. The posts will tell you about formatting, trying a different USB stick, using HDD Guru to low level format the stick etc.

Also, remove any other devices from the box except your flash usb stick.

USB stick needs the zgemma folder on it.
 
that did it :) press right until mgcamd showed then hit refresh (green button)

channels working.

I have a 500gig 3.5 drive installed and seems to be working ok, poss upgrade it to a 1TB

i thought i followed everything to the letter but with not having a file to upload it lost me in the mgcamd part

thanks for that have used 2 different usb sticks & no joy but will do what you said about hdd guru had all te files i needed as per instructions at start of thread. will let oyu know how i get on in hte morning

OK good luck, just make sure you have the correct file structure on the usb stick including the zgemma folder once you have formatted again. You can try the rear usb port too which will rule out a bad front port.

The reason I say to use the front port is becuase it is easy to get to and I always know where people are should they need help.

My fingers are crossed for you.
 
The instructions were easy to follow, i wish most were laid out like that :) might do more now for the family.
Also thinking on buying a VU Solo 2 for the main room and use the Zgemma upstairs.

Once i have gone though the rest of the instructions i just need to see if the unit will find my NAS box full of movies or find the Plex plugin that will do same job.

I don't do NAS or plex myself, but I know it all works. If you get stuck with anything like that just search or start a new thread, those that know will be happy to help.
