If you have tried a different hdmi cable and no change, either the hdmi port on tv or box could be buggered.
Try the box and hdmi lead on a different tv
If the same try a second hdmi lead on the second tv, if the same, the hdmi port on the box could be buggered

No it will achieve nothing.
If you tried 2 different hdmi leads on the second tv;
Get some phono leads and try these from box to tv
This will confirm that the hdmi port on the box is goosed.
Hdmi port on the box maybe finished
Get some phono leads for a few quid and use them instead but be aware that hd channels won't work using phono leads.

can the ports be repaired?
I've never heard of one being replaced, though I suppose it is possible, it would probably cost more than a new box as they can be had for around the £60 mark
