I always remember my grandma's last words to me, "what are you doing in here with that hammer?"

After reading this thread I’m kinda intrigued now leaning towards getting the GTMEDIA V8 uhd but it would mean i would have to climb & change the lnb as it would be wideband on the mini dish as we originally had SkyQ a while back then it’s finding a sub if anyone could give me some pointers or Pm Cheers

You may have a hybrid LNB in that case you'll need to swap over the Cables on the LNB. Take a pic of the LNB and we can identify it.

If it is a wideband LNB it will need to be changed for either a hybrid LNB if you still use the Skyq box or a universal LNB if not. Either way your up the ladder.

Cheers Ferret’ yeah it’s a wideband LNB by the looks of it 2 way standard

Its two cables as sky q requires a cable to supply the vertical side off the transponder and cable to supply the horizontal side off the transponder

It’s pretty high also we have a lot of trees out the back garden as it backs off onto a playground/park i could possibly end up as a cropper another “rod hull” trying to adjust at half-time during an Inter Milan vs. Manchester United Champions League match 🤣

Tie the ladder between the two brackets for safety Undo the f connectors from the l.n.b temporary tie the cables with a cable tie to the satellite dish arm incase they comeaway from the wall Undo the l.n.b holder with star head screw driver Remove the skyq wideband l.n.b
Fit the free sat Universal l.n.b tighten the l.n.b
holder not fully tight until you position the skew angle off the ll.n.b Looking face on at the satellite dish its positioned at 1oclock Fully tighten the l.n.b holder Fit the f connectors tighten and slide the l.n.b cover over the connectors, job done

If you don't feel safe going up the ladder DON'T, ask someone else if they can help or get a
Installer or handyman to swap it out for you.
It's a 2 min job
Lnb already has skew set.

@deano2010 Perhaps there's a more accessible location which sees through a gap between the trees where you could install another dish? Try checking using Dish Pointer and a Satellite AR app.

Who ever installed the satellite dish had it face on then realised there was no line off sight so fitted a side bracket hence forth the big loop off cable

i could probably change the lnb myself or get another dish and move it over to the right side of the house so it’s away from trees for better line of sight the trees are everywhere it’s a nightmare
