Yes mate they can run hot in summer make sure you have sufficient ventilation around the box

Failing that i would suggest a usb laptop cooling fan :(y):

There's been guys on here and WOS who have posted this worry and swapped it at least for a different make. Contact WOS if it makes you panicky.

I bought one last year, I think the way everything is compacted in to a tiny receiver including a HDD is not great.
Mine got very warm as well, I sold it only weeks after buying it. (A few reasons really, but in my opinion there's better receivers around)
I ended up buying a mutant HD51 which doesn't need a fan and has plenty of room for the HDD to sit inside the receiver which doesn't get anywhere near as hot as the techomate.

Thanks for that

Again, Thanks will contact W.O,S as I feel this is a bit of a fire risk. Don't want to burn down the house and put the wife and Kids at risk ! Thanks for the sensible reply, Unlike some Muppets who think they are comic Geniuses.

mine is fairly warm but i don't consider it to be a problem

i have it on the top of my stack of stuff so it's well ventilated

90 degrees isn't even body temperature, and will be comparable to what the internals of computers etc will likely be.

For the money you have spent, I don't think WOS will have an issue swapping your box. The Mutant HD51 has come down in price now, or I can personally recommend the Octagon SF4008. Both support internal HDD. Quality Fast Boxes.

i would also check menu to see if boxes have internal fan and is not switched off.
years ago i made wos aware of images that had fan switched off and now is set to on on later images.
