Even if they do which i dont think they will. Thete are boxes with there own built in apps Amazon have been fed up with this for years

I don’t think they will either but they could because they can control the OS with OTA updates like Amazon do.
With AOSP only the manufacturer and the creators of the firmware are the only ones that can push OTA updates to their devices.
Google can’t push updates to them, alter the Home Screen or force advertising on them.

If you deregister an Android Stick the apps remain, but if you deregister a Google TV device it gets wiped

Yes aptoide but that is just another source you can download from and side load but where do those apps come from if those sources stop then what , but I aint thinking that will happen

It's really easy to extract an installed APK from any android device, without them changing the entire system those sites will be around.

I would stay away from amazon its well noted they are starting to block apps

Think it might be a wise choice then to get the Thomson 270 👍🏻

Some of the uk catchup apps have to be side loaded so doesn’t have the license for the official apps
The 270 is the same as the Onn pro.

The yanks seem to like the Onn pro which is the same as the 270 and made my the same manufacturer and licensed under Thomson in Europe.

Loads on Discord groups I am in and Reddit users seem happy with the Onn pro and recommend it for iptv and general streaming.
I don’t personally use any of the devices that have been spoken about but if you buy the 270 from Amazon and are not happy just return it through their returns policy.
