Nope, the apps seem to be Geo specific, according to him. he has tried the Us VPN, but the google account knows he is in Eire, apparently.

Before turning on VPN or anything else, you need to turn off LOCATION on phone, I've had this a few times when trying to access some stuff via VPN.
