This is the design of the duo 4k psu which still didn't work. Those PSU's that plug directly into the socket are poor imho.
Get a decent one like this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/SUPERNIGHT-Supply-Adapter-Voltage-Device/dp/B09MK9HNS1/ref=sr_1_10?crid=3DN8THGN7UHRE&keywords=12v+5a+power+supply&qid=1671376557&sprefix=12v+5a+power+supply,aps,94&sr=8-10
Although they do seem to have gone up in price since I last bought one.
Vu+ buy cheap Chinese PSU's the same as everyone else.I used by vu duo 4k power supply which is probably the best one you can use and it still didn't work
This is the case. It's separated. It's definitely a good psu.Vu+ buy cheap Chinese PSU's the same as everyone else.
If the PSU plugs directly into the wall it's a cheap one. Get one of those with a lead that plugs into the socket and another lead to the box.
Yes. It's working flawlessly.Nice one. So after you flash do you see numbers climbing straight away right?
So you're not actually using the psu that came in your box?Yes. It's working flawlessly.
The only issue I had from a clean boot was that samba wouldn't install and I had to do it from putty.
Worked fine from a settings backup.
Are you a glazier by trade willo 🤣The only issue I had from a clean boot was that samba wouldn't install and I had to do it from putty
Absolutely not! I use 12v 5a PSU's on all my boxes. These are the ones I bought 5 years ago but they were only £9 each then.So you're not actually using the psu that came in your box?
Oh right fair enough. I thought the ones you get with the receiver should be good enough.Absolutely not! I use 12v 5a PSU's on all my boxes. These are the ones I bought 5 years ago but they were only £9 each then.

He's using a H7, there's no recovery menu.Have you tried this....
Turn box off, white button pressed out.
Now point your remote at the box holding down the red power button.
Now press the white button on so the box starts but keep remote power button pressed.
Release red power button when you see rcy on front display.
This will now load recovery menu.wait 30 secs or so.
When recovery menu appears, scroll down to bootmenu.ok
scroll to flash online image,ok
Choose which image you want,ok
let it download and it will ask what partition you want to use.
Then it will flash,
If using openatv 6.4 or higher,
Fully flash then set password ,menu, setup, system, network, password setup,ok,set password green button to save.
you can then use command prompt for builds.
Hope this helps👍
