Guide A Guide to IPTV.

so I've noticed that with my current provider and other providers in the past, my service works well for the most part during the morning. But around peak hours, I get buffering. Sometimes, I can watch something for a 2-3 hours and don't get any buffering. Like last night's NBA Finals game 1. Other times, it'll buffer a 2-3 times an hour.

I currently use firestick 4k max. I've tried doing everything suggested and nothing seems to be working. I've tried using it with and without vpn, wireless and wired, clear cache, reset modem/router, close all background apps.

I've asked in reddit and most people say that their service doesn't buffer at all or maybe 1-2 times a week, but I don't trust them because I'm not sure if they're resellers or not.

So guys, is it normal/acceptable for a service to be buffering daily and several times during peak hours?
Your ISP could be throttling you too.

Them what say they get no buffering is laughable.
You can get buffering at any time of the day especially if providers are load balancing restarting streams.
You find non English channels are the hardest to maintain to the op what are your speed tests showing on device

The times I might get a few seconds buffering are when I’m on a mobile connection and the speed is variable. That’s to be expected though.
With my 80Mb fibre connection, I get maybe half a second every once in a while with which I can live with. There is no pattern to this and it can happen at anytime on any program, although I must say it’s more frequent on a Firestick. I wouldn’t really say it’s buffering though.

I‘m using a Formuler Z11, a Firestick 4K Max and an E2 box. Not at the same time.

I'm getting 250-300 Mbps wireless, 80 Mbps wired and around 60 Mbps wired with VPN. I'm using firestick 4k max

If using a independent isp chances are you're not being throttled and could be down to your server. However you can check this by installing a vpn and seeing if it improves

If you're in the USA? Are you using a service with a server in that part of the world? If you service has a server in the EU, that could be many hops to you.

I think most of the providers I've had in the past have their servers in UK. I have tried using a server based in the US and it still buffers for me

Location shouldn't matter all down to speed
The thing with speed tests, they are a measure of your location to the speed check server, NOT to any other IP address, there you could be connecting to an IPtv server with rubbish peering or being throttled, you'll never really know.

I would definitely try multiple Vpn locations, maybe a different VPN provider, and trial another service see if it's the same and maybe try on your mobile data only.

See if any of the above helps.

As the boys say, always disable your websafe, web protect ect via your isp account and also use a quality VPN like Nord or express and select a VPN server/country with low
Ping. Using a VPN is gonna drop your speeds so if you have old copperwire ADSL2 broadband through your telephone line then youl probably struggle. Best to have a FTTC or FTTP connection (fibre) which you said you have. @tnluong

This could also be about your actual wi-fi signal strength or other devices using bandwidth. There is so many variables at the users end to consider. Although I just read your post and if your only buffer a couple time every 2-3 hours then what’s the issue with that, that’s the nature of the beast.

Apps

Suppliers are moving to their own apps now and don't want to give out a url for security reasons. I would ask your supplier if they support the X3M app you simply give your supplier a code once it is downloaded and they will activate it. The X3M app has been around for along time and is simple to use. your app is not always determined by provider. However, they must support the app you choose. The good providers will normally ask which app you are using and advise accordingly

I know this post is 3 years old but does this still hold true? I'm a web developer and currently building an IPTV player for myself (laptop & mobile) because a lot of them have bad UX. I might make it available for the public at some point but this is kinda making me reconsider. Do you guys think there's still a market for third party apps?

Well my opinion the sheild is still number one. But it depends what you are looking for.

Are you just looking to watch iptv. Well a firestick will do the job.

Yes people are after webplayers xciptv are building a web player. Purple have one. But if you have hevc streams none of them work
