When I say hacked, I meant hacked asin what the flixvision app has had done to it.So whats the point of having a Fire Device ? What this shows is any app could be flagged.
A large percentage of users will have an illegal app on their device.
The fact they could trace them and can is enough to say yeah this things linked to my address.
I've various android devices none of them even have a google account assigned to them let alone an account with my full details, all my apps are sideloaded and behind a router with a VPN running.
For me that's as safe as it can be.
Yeah i understand that and for now all they have done is take out Flix. When I say hacked, I meant hacked asin what the flixvision app has had done to it.
Malicious code in Flix Vision app · Issue #2835 · fmhy/edit
A few months ago, users reported on Reddit that the Flix Vision app was making unsolicited network requests (signs of internet sharing/botnet). Being a reverse engineer myself, I decided to look into the latest version of the app and check for potential malicious code.
It was discovered that the Flix Vision app has code that, at the developer's discretion, can remotely enable an internet-sharing SDK called TraffMonetizer that runs in the background. This turns the users of the Flix Vision app into exit nodes for residential proxy services that can perform web scraping and other malicious/illegal activities 1,2, using the user's internet connection, without their consent or knowledge. The developers of Flix Vision get revenue from TraffMonetizer for selling user's internet connections.
But there is not much call to use those apps outside of turning them into illegal viewing platforms. We and the industry know that. All the popular apps like Kodi, Stremio, Tivimate and many other player are all available on the Google playstore so they are legit.
It’s just when you modify and add certain features to those apps they become illegal.
Same with Debrid services they only become illegal when the user access’s copyrighted material on file hosting sites and cache it to the Debrids servers.
The app that acts as a content indexer is not illegal it only becomes illegal when the user adds or modifies it to access copyrighted material.
But they don’t seem to be prosecuting people for doing this and are going after the people who host or supplies the copyrighted material.
Don’t forget to take your mobile phone with you so it gives your location at the scene of the crime lolIm off to do a bank job tonight.
I'll make sure i drop my driving licence on the floor while im there 🤣
Boycott Amazon and their devices its terrible what they are doing to their customers , those who have them already I'm sure can use ADB commands through a PC or maybe network IP block amazon OTA updates with Adguard or similar to stop this bullet that kills these 3rd party apps i hope.
Which customers do you mean?Boycott Amazon and their devices its terrible what they are doing to their customers , those who have them already I'm sure can use ADB commands through a PC or maybe network IP block amazon OTA updates with Adguard or similar to stop this bullet that kills these 3rd party apps i hope.
My old Amazon 2015 'Sloane' box has the updates disabled. I gave up having to hack the hell out of fire sticks/boxes and tablets just to keep out the ads , tracking and display my own homescreen. It got so bad i decided it wasnt worth having to remap home buttons and the like (we shouldnt have to) i've never looked back since going for an Nvidia Shield TV Pro 2019. Brilliant device.

Depends which version of the app you are using. I tested a couple last week one installed and worked fine and the other one blocked.I've found if you install the likes of flixvision on usb stick and run from external storage. There's no problem. Not for me at the moment
