Enigma2 IPTV auto-reconnect

Hi oottppxx

I just thought it wasnt working as I disconnected the network cable for a minute on a stream, plugged it back in and it didnt restart.

I've just tested and the evStart does display on zapping to a new channel.

If you disconnected the network cable, the stream stopped, and evStop didn't get triggered, your setup/system is different than usual, so I ask again: what system/box are you using (and what stream type was it, from 1/4097/5001/5002?)

Just tried it again and seems to be working now, weird. I'm running openatv 6.2 on a vu+ duo 4k

Hi all.

Not been here for about a month due to work-related nonsense, but I must say a massive thanks to oottppxx.
Everything is great log-wise (disconnecting and reconnecting the cable demonstrates this is fine), but as I stated in the OP, I leave the TV on in the background a lot. It seems channels are still disconnecting after around 2-3 hours and not being restarted by QP. Was wondering if this was down to something else in the system?
Type 5002 via serviceapp.

Any ideas why this is happening? Wondering if the QP service is being killed or something?

Many thanks

Doubtful that anything is getting killed. Turn on debug and check what's happening when the service stops and doesn't restart.

Got the log enabled - when I disconnected and reconnected the network cable, everything works as it should, showing evstart etc. I'll post what happens when it cuts out, about an hour or so.

Thanks

This is what's happening with the log:

Make sure the restart delay parameter is 0 (as you generally aren't zapping around anyway, so any issues that would solve don't apply to you), and install the latest latest version (6.2.0g) where I fixed a logical error for such rapid restarts (the previous, 6.2.0f, also changed the debug output, so don't be surprised about it changing a little). Let me know if that fixes it, if not, please do capture another debug.

after installing 6.2.0g i have this error

warning

some plugins are not available:
extensions/quarterpounder (type object iplayableservice has no attribute evvideogammachanged)

How old is your image and what is it ?

It would seem that this image detects IsHD or Is4k in the ServiceInfo.py differently.
oottppxx will need to know your image type and version so he can find what exactly the image uses to detect these things.

For now, just comment out line 72 in the QuarterPounder plugin.pyo after first decompiling it and this should then at least prevent the error and allow the plugin to show in your plugin list. However, it is then possible that your ServiceInfo.py also uses different ways of detecting resolution for example and you will get a new error.

You could always try adding the ServiceInfo.py from the OE-A Github after first backing up your original, this should solve things for now, but doing this may prevent some icons in your skin from displaying in your InfoBar for example, where it normally shows SD or HD.
But its simply not possible for oottppxx to add things to his plugin that are no longer used by the mainstream images, My advise really would be to reflash and use a more up to date image based on OE-A

I'm using a old Viix (5.1.033) TM Nano OE, before installing 6.2.0g previous QP versions installed without any problems. See if oottppxx can help.

thanks ian1095

Sorry for that, and thanks for letting me know. I pushed 6.2.0h, you won't have as nicer debug output but it will have the logical error fixed - let me know how it works for you.

That's related to some previous configuration you have, that opkg tools trigger (namely opkg_configure, apparently?), not the plugin. The plugin is totally unrelated to sound/alsa.

Maybe try "opkg update" followed by "opkg upgrade" to sort it out, but if not, you'll probably have to ask for support somewhere on a ViX forum or such.
