Am I right in thinking Bt Sport still exists because they are Sky UK biggest rivals in UK

BT Sports exists because people subscribe to their package. They have rights to EPL and ECL matches which are the biggest draw in UK sports viewing.

Maybe because they couldn't care less how many people watch that for free.

Probably because sky are only encrypting there own channels it will be down to third party channels to encrypt there own channels. That's my guess anyway

TV wise maybe. Not sure on less overheads overall.

BT is the biggest ISP provider in the UK. Don’t forget that. With 3 subsidiaries too. EE, Plusnet and BT Ireland….

DAZN are strongly rumoured to be buying out BT Sports which would give them one hell of a foot in the door.

BT only started a sport channel to attract customers to their broadband services as many were leaving for Sky.

Now BT has stabilised customer retentions and ventured into other business, i.e. took over EE, they don’t need sport anymore. Hence the expected sale to DAZN.

The epl an fa ect has agreed to the sale of bt sports it’s just a matter of time soon enough dzan will have more rights then sky imo

Dazn in the UK in the coming years will truly be the home of sport.

I can see sky losing rights to major sports even football.

I think he's right that was the time frame when sly HD went in cs.

HD on cable lasted a few years after though.

Why don't they try Oscam and try opening Sky UK like on Sky Germany
