Hello guys

First up can I just say you all do a sterling job. Have got so much useful information from here for a complete newbie like me so thanks so much for that. :(y):

Just wanted to ask a question regarding lines. I can see the request thread and what people are asking for and it's confused me.

Do I ask for a c line/ n line/ oscam/ mgcamd?? :emoji_confounded:

Not sure what to ask for nor what the difference is. I've had a look but couldn't find this info and nor which one is suitable for me.

I've got a gigablue ue4khd running OpenATV 6.2 with wooshbuild infinity. Am looking for a sly line.

Later on down the line will get the DVB-C/T/T2 tuner up and running so am guessing the answer will be the same as above regarding a virmin line?

Just want to make sure I ask for the correct thing. Many thanks, you guys are amazing! ;)

In short

No sky branded channels can be accessed via cardsharing if using satellite feeds

HD Sky Sports, ITV box office SD & HD and sky box office HD aren't available on Virgin anymore.

IPTV offers everything and includes 3pm kick offs, VOD, PPV events (well almost everyone does)

For me, forget about kicking the VM option down the road, if you already have the box, and have a live VM connection, go straight for a cable line.
What is your reasoning behind going for a sat line first?

Hi I have a current sat feed but no working virmin feed hence sorting out the sat first and then cable later on down the line. So I'll have one as a back up to the other.
I realise what is and isn't available via sat but just wanted to get a feel of that first before getting cable installed and then IPTV as 3rd option but to get the ball rolling didn't know what to request regarding type of line as per my original post. Will request in the correct thread once I know what to ask for!

get a euro line and ask if both sat and cable for the uk are included, then when you setup dvb-c your line that you get for dvb-s will work.

Thanks for that...that's a new one to add to my list of things I didn't know about!
I've got a fixed 28.2° dish (UK based) so am guessing this euroline is ok for that? Also if I request this I don't need to add any further info regarding c/n line, mgcamd etc?
Thanks for your help

Do you have a motorised dish, or multi lnb's? If so pieeater suggestion would work.
If not, for me try an iptv line as it has all the channels on it.
Read the first post in the request thread, it will give you pointers on who to trust and not.
Try a few tests, and go with the best for a month(more expensive, but more reliable way of testing), before going for a full year.

Thanks for that Mbath. I knew it wasn't available any more on sat but actually wasn't aware that hd sports wasn't available any more on virmin either. Sounds like very little point then getting virmin line. Quite like to get the sat line still though to utilise my dual sat tuners for things like recording 2 shows etc but will shift focus more onto IPTV now based on your very valuable information. Thanks once again for that.

No just the usual pre-installed sly dish

If only recording freeview channels via satellite feeds and wanting pause rewind etc for that then you do not need a sub of any kind

Yes that's what I have at the moment and all works fine for that but would like the option to also do that on the non free sat channels too. I love a bit of only fools! :emoji_sweat_smile:

what type of line you asks for depends on what is installed on your box, cws line probably the safest bet

if you want sat then ask for a test here http://www.techkings.org/threads/an...ellite-october-november-december-2018.143398/ as thesultan09 says and they should guide you to set it up.seeing that you have wooshbuild it should be straight forward.
Yes will be going straight there once I know what to ask for. My issue is the 2nd rule there says to state what type of line to ask for - c/n, and I can see others asking for oscam/mgcamd.
So didn't know how to fulfil this 2nd point without knowing what it is that I'm asking for hence my question in the original post!

press the menu buttion on your remote and select infopanel -> Softcam Panel and use the left/right arrows to browse through the cams available on your box, I suspect you have cccam and mgcamd, I've never used cccam personally so would ask for mgcamd line which starts cws.

Ah many thanks for that. That's very useful.
Following your suggestion I can see that I've got 2 cams. The left and right keys on cam 1 shows cccam and oscam_atv_emu. The same again happens for cam 2.
So guessing I need to ask for either c line or oscam?
