you could open it and check the capacitors,
thats the most common thing to go on small power supplies, they are only a few pence to replace
l have done that and tested connections inside and all appear ok, other than that l don't feel inclined to remove mother board to check nor do l have equipment to check.
 
It's powered up again , but going through loop now where it switches off and on again. Happened before and came back to life , it seems very common issue with those boxes , the power supply unit was crap.

I'll see what happens over next day or so, prob even if it's the power supply I will just replace with new box rather than cobbling something up.

perhaps something as simple as a dry joint if intermittent.
